Howard graduated in Sociology, studied law and was articled at a Hampshire firm. In 1986 Howard set up Phillips Solicitors with John Phillips, now retired, Alex Preshaw and Jonathan Pender. As well as being appointed Deputy District Judge in 1992, he is both an accredited family mediator and commercial mediator, board member of the Family Mediators Association and secretary of the Basingstoke subcommittee of Hampshire Incorporated Law Society.
Howard’s aim is to help his personal and business clients to achieve a resolution of what sometimes seem insurmountable financial, business and emotional difficulties. He enables them to continue on good relations with former partners and to achieve a fair, reasonable and economically acceptable outcome.
A keen and fairly incompetent horseman, Howard is also a dedicated gardener with a particular interest in pumpkins and chillies. He keeps, amongst other animals, peacocks and pigs and is a keen bee-keeper.
